The report emerged Monday morning of a suspicious incident in Montvale on Sunday.

Police described the vehicle as "a black Volkswagen occupied by two males (race unknown) offering candy to two juveniles."

Although it wasn't genuine luring, "the grade-schoolers who were targeted did not know that," Police Chief Jeremy Abrams wrote in subsequent social media post.

"They did an excellent job staying away and notifying a parent," the post said.
